KATHMANDU: In what has been dubbed as a ‘show of strength’, the Prachanda-Nepal faction of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) is organizing a mass assembly in Kathmandu on Wednesday.

The dissident faction has already taken out rallies against the dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR) from five different places prior to converging into a mass meeting at Bhrikuti Mandap.

Talking to Khabarhub, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, the spokesperson of the NCP, said the rallies have been taken out from Pulchowk, Tripureshwor, Maitighar Mandala, Kaiser Mahal, and Jamal.

Leaders including Krishna Bahadur Mahara and Pampha Bhushal are leading the rally to Sundhara via Pulchowk, Kupondole, Thapathali, and Tripureshwor.

Astalaxmi Shakya, Ghanshyam Bhushal, Chakrapani Khanal, Janardan Sharma, and Mukunda Neupane have led the rally from Tripureshwor.

Amrit Kumar Bohara, Ganesh Shah, Giriraj Mani Pokharel, Bhim Acharya, and others are leading the rally from Maitighar.

Dev Gurung, Devendra Poudel, Bhim Rawal, and Shakti Basnet are leading from Kaiser Mahal, while the rally from Jamal is being led by Lilamani Pokharel and others.

Traffic has been affected due to the rallies

The faction organized a march-past ahead of the protest assembly against House dissolution on Tuesday.

The Prachanda-Nepal faction has been demonstrating after Prime Minister Oli dissolved the HoR on December 20 stating that the House dissolution is unconstitutional, anti-democratic and against the mandate of the people.
