Prithvi Narayan Shah is guardian of all, says minister Dhakal



KATHMANDU: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Bhanubhakta Dhakal has said that Prithvi Narayan Shah, the unifier of modern Nepal, is a respected guardian of all Nepalis.

Speaking at a program organized on the 299th birth anniversary of Shah by Nepal Academy on Sunday, Minister Dhakal argued that all Nepalis will remember Shah forever for his contributions made to unify the naiton.

Minister Dhakal opined that Shah contributed a lot to safeguard Nepal’s national sovereignty at a critical time. On another note, he opined to promote various places linked with Prithvi Naryan Shah’s life and contributions as the cultural and historical touristic sites.

Similarly, Academy Chancellor Ganga Prasad Upreti said that following the footprints of Shah will be the real tributes to him.

The Academy is organizing a week-long book exhibition on the National Unity Day in memory of Shah, the founder of Shah dynasty.
