KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Gagan Thapa, who has announced his candidacy for the post of party General Secretary, has unveiled a 15-point concept paper.
At a program held in Kathmandu, Thapa unveiled the concept paper titled ‘Prosperous Nepal: Dignified Nepalis’. In the concept paper, he advocates that state mechanisms should ensure easy and equal access to all the citizens by investing in the fields like education and health. It views that social democracy in practice is much needed in context of Nepal.
Thapa added the NC should make programs to realize ‘Prosperous Nepal: Dignified Nepalis’ following the election of new leadership this year. Stressing that the new leadership needed to be clear about the investment to be made to realize ‘Prosperous Nepal: Dignified Nepalis’, he said the party should prepare for it.
He argued he would be filing candidacy for renaissance and transformation within the party though his win was not guaranteed.
