NHRC presents annual report to President Bhandari



KATHMANDU: An annual report of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has been presented before President Bidya Devi Bhandari.

NHRC Chairperson Top Bahadur Magar today submitted the organization’s annual report for the fiscal year 2020/21 to the Head-of-the-State in accordance with the Article 294 of the Constitution.

Joint Secretary and NHRC Spokesperson Dr. Tikaram Pokharel said the report detailed the works done by the Commission throughout the year and recommended reforms to be carried out in the coming days for the protection and promotion of human rights.

Receiving the report, President Bhandari noted that various human rights violations were still taking place in the society and stressed the need for economic upliftment, access to education and awareness to minimize human rights violations.
