419 delegates from Sudurpaschim to attend NC’s 14th general convention (With list)



KATHMANDU: A total of 419 delegates from Sudurpaschim Province are attending the 14th General Convention of the Nepali Congress (NC) starting from Friday in Kathmandu.

According to a list made public by the NC Election Committee, 418 delegates from Prime Minister and party President Sher Bahadur Deuba’s home province will attend the convention. The Deuba faction is also dominant in the province due to the influence of notable leaders like Ramesh Lekhak and NP Saud. The faction also won by majority posts of office bearers in the province convention held last week.

According to NC Election Committee, 79 delegates from Kanchanpur; 26 delegates, including Deuba, from the party president’s home district Dadeldhura, will participate in the convention. Though all the office bearers of the Central Committee are automatically the delegates to the General Convention, Deuba’s name was endorsed from Dadeldhura.

Similarly, 27 delegates from Baitadi and 27 from Darchula and 130 delegates from five constituencies of Kailali district are set to participate in the convention. Similarly, 26 delegates from Doti, 26 from Bajhang, 52 from Achham and 26 from Bajura have been elected delegates to the General Convention.
