KATHMANDU: President Bidhya Devi Bhandari has appointed Chiefs of three provinces on Tuesday.
President Bhandari appointed Parshuram Khapung as chief in Province 1, Tilak Pariyar in Karnali and Devraj Joshi in Sudurpaschim Province.
A cabinet meeting held Monday had recommended to the President to replace the Chiefs of Province 1, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.
Earlier, President Bhandari dismissed the governors of the three provinces pursuant to Article 165 (1 B) of the Constitution on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers. Province 1 Chief Somnath Adhikari, Karnali Province Chief Govinda Kaluni, and Sudurpaschim Chief Ganga Prasad Yadav had been relieved from their posts earlier.
