Single bench of Justice Sinha to hear writ against NC Gen Convention



KATHMANDU: The writ petition seeking suspension of the 14th General Convention of the Nepali Congress has been assigned to a single bench of Justice Anil Kumar Sinha.

Nepali Congress Mahasamiti member Narottam Baidya, a member of the Bagmati Provincial Assembly, had filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court on September 3, demanding the adjournment of the convention until the COVID-19 pandemic is brought under control.

Vaidya, in the writ, has sought an order to hold the general convention only after the coronavirus subsides arguing that the coronavirus will spread during the convention.

The ward level convention of the 14th General Convention of the NC has started from September 3.
