Heavy rain forecast; floods likely in Karnali, Kankai, Bagmati and Rapti

KATHMANDU: The Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) has forecast heavy rains in various places triggering floods in some rivers in the country today.

The level of water is likely to increase in the Koshi, Karnali, Kankai, Bagmati, Eastern Rapti, Western Rapti rivers and their tributaries, said the Division.

Similarly, the water level is also likely to increase in most of the rivers in Pradesh 1 and in Dhanusha and Rautahat in Pradesh 2, according to the Division.

Likewise, the floods might occur in the rivers and rivulets following through Bajhang, Bajura, Baitadi, Dadeldhura, Kailali and in their surrounding areas, said the Division, urging people living on the river-banks to take precautions.
