Govt administering AstraZeneca to senior citizens who received first doze of Covishield

144 vaccination centers set up in Kathmandu



KATHMANDU: The government is administering AstraZeneca vaccines to senior citizens from today.

This vaccine is being given to those who have received the first doze of Covishield.

As many as 144 vaccination centers have been set up in Kathmandu to this effect, said the Ministry of Health and Population.

The Ministry has said the AstraZeneca vaccines recently brought from Bhutan and Japan will be administered to 1,368,176 senior citizens.

The first doze of Covishield manufactured by Serum Institute of India and developed by Oxford AstraZeneca had been administered to senior citizens in the Nepali month of Chaitra.
