Monsoon mayhem: Flood, landslide and inundation kill 51 across country

KATHMANDU: As many as 51 people have died due to floods, landslides and inundation induced by the active monsoon across the country.

According to the Nepal Police headquarters, 26 men, 15 women and 10 children are among those killed.

Of them, five are from Sindhupalchowk, four from Doti, three each from Rolpa, Dang, Palpa, Darchula and Gorkha.

Similarly, two each are from Chitwan, Pyuthan, Dhading, Myagdi and Rautahat and one each from Lalitpur, Makwanpur, Sarlahi, Khotang, Saptari, Kavre, Sindhuli, Jumla, Arghakhanchi, Kaski, Kalikot, Panchthar, Bajhang and Bajura.

Seven persons were killed in the last 24 hours alone. As per the updates shared by Police Headquarters, three persons died in Darchula, two in Palpa and one each in Tanahu and Dang. Similarly, 29 persons have gone missing.

As many as 1,268 persons were rescued. Information to this was shared by Nepal Police Spokesperson Basant Bahadur Kunwar.
