DPM Pokhrel thanks Mahavir Pun for innovative support against the COVID-19



KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister Ishwar Pokhrel thanked National Innovation Center’s founder Mahavir Pun for the latter’s laudable support in the combat against coronavirus pandemic.

In meeting with the renowned Nepali scientist and Roman Magasasay prize winner Pun at Singha Durbar today, Deputy Prime Minister Pokhrel praised the role National Innovation Center played in this hard time of pandemic.

National Innovation Center has been designing, preparing and supplying various most essential health materials including PPE, gloves, ventilators, ICUs and many more.

Under the leadership of Pun, the scholars at the Center have helped in the repair and maintenance of ventilators and other tools used for the treatment of the people.

Thousands of people of remote areas are benefitting from various self-help schemes Pun initiated for them.

During the meeting, Pokhrel had shown interest on whether the Center could further play role in addressing the prospective scarcity of oxygen.

On the occasion, Pun informed DPM Pokhrel of ongoing projects related to the combat against coronavirus pandemic.
