Gandaki CM Gurung resigns



KATHMANDU: Chief Miniter of Gandaki Province Prithvi Subba Gurung has tendered his resignation to Governor Sita Kumari Poudel Sunday.

Debate and voting on a no-confidence motion against CM Gurung were scheduled to take place Monday.

He has resigned a day before the Gandaki Provincial Assembly’s special session.

Earlier, UML provincial parliamentary party meeting had also taken place in Pokhara.

The Office of the Province Chief has accepted the resignation and called on political parties to initiate the process to form a new government within 3 days. Meanwhile, Gurung’s government has been asked to function as a caretaker government.
