JSP begins internal discussion after return from Baluwatar

KATHMANDU: Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) is holding internal discussion after its leaders returned from Baluwatar Sunday.

Earlier in the morning JSP Chairman Mahantha Thakur and Rajendra Mahato reached Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba’s residence in Budhanilkantha and held talks with him.

After that, the two leaders went to Baluwatar to meet Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. Thakur and Mahato told PM Oli that they would not be able to support him since the government has not yet met their demands.

JSP is also planning to convene its office-bearers’ meeting later Sunday, according to leader Keshav Jha. According to him, JSP Federal Council Chairman Babu Ram Bhattarai, Chairmen Thakur and Upendra Yadav, leader Ashok Rai and others will participate in the meeting.

The JSP has not been able to make a decision to form a new government due to difference in opinion among Chairmen Thakur and Yadav.

Thakur is close to PM Oli whereas Yadav is for toppling PM Oli’s government.
