11 succumb to COVID-19 death in 24 hours, a single day high death toll

POKHARA: With 11 more people succumbing to coronavirus death in 24 hours Pokhara has seen the highest ever death toll from coronavirus.

According to the Gandaki Health Directorate, all the deceased were undergoing treatment in Pokhara.

Among the deceased six people are from Kaski, two from Syangja, one each from Myagdi, Parbat and Rupandehi.

The health directorate informed that a 58-year-old resident of Pokhara-19 died at Manipal Hospital on Saturday afternoon. Similarly, a 52-year-old man of Pokhara-27 died at Gandaki Medical College on Saturday morning, while a 58-year-old infected woman of Pokhara-2 died also at Gandaki Medical College on Friday evening.

Likewise, a 31-year-old infected woman of Pokhara 9 died at Manipal Hospital on Saturday and a 35-year-old woman of Pokhara 12 died at Pokhara Institute of Health Sciences on Saturday.

According to Dr. Binod Bindu Sharma, a 58-year-old person of Myagdi Malika-5 died on Friday. Similarly, a 60-year-old corona-infected woman of Galyang Municipality-3 died at Charak Memorial Hospital on Saturday morning and a 45-year-old corona-infected woman of Waling-3 died at Pokhara Institute of Health Sciences on Saturday afternoon.

A 42-year-old infected man of Kushma Municipality-13 died while undergoing treatment at Pokhara Institute of Health Sciences, said Dr Sharma. A 60-year-old Corona-infected man of Siddharthnagar Municipality-8 of Rupandehi died at Gandaki Medical College on Saturday. Corona was seen in him on May 6.

At the same time, the number of deaths due to corona has reached 262 across the province. A total of 54 infected people have lost their lives since Mid-April.
