Constitutional Council recommends appointments to various Constitutional Commissions



KATHMANDU: The Constitutional Council has recommended the appointment of various individuals to the vacant posts in the Constitutional Commissions, including the Public Service Commission (PSC).

A meeting of the Constitutional Council held at the PM’s residence in Baluwatar Sunday morning recommended the appointment to various Constitutional Commission, according to National Assembly Chairperson Ganesh Prasad Timilsina.

He, however, did not divulge details.

All office-bearers, including the Chairperson and two commissioners in the PSC are vacant.

Likewise, some posts are vacant in the Constitutional Bodies including Women’s Commission, Finance Commission and Dalit Commission.

Leader of the opposition Nepal Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba and Speaker of the House of Representatives Agni Prasad Sapkota, however, did not attend the meeting convened by Prime Minister KP Oli.

Today’s meeting was attended by Prime Minister Oli, National Assembly Speaker Timilsina and Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana.
