NC mulls over coalition govt excluding CPN-UML

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) leader NP Saud has disclosed that his party is mulling over the formation of a coalition government with major parties in the parliament excluding the ruling CPN-UML.

Talking to journalists on Tuesday, NC leader Saud said that the party has started making internal preparations to form a collation government.

Earlier, the NC was in a wait and see mood until the ruling Nepal Communist Party formally split.

The Supreme Court (SC) on Sunday revived the erstwhile UML and CPN (Maoist Center), revoking their unification as the Nepal Communist Party (NCP).

CPN-UML has the largest number of seats with 121 in the parliament followed by NC with 63. Similarly, CPN (Maoist Center) and Janata Samajwadi Party have 53 and 34 seats respectively.
