Education Ministry requests to inoculate teachers against COVID-19



KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has requested the Ministry of Health and Population to make arrangements to vaccinate teachers-staffers working in the frontline.

As per the government policy, a letter was sent to the MoHP to prioritize school and university teachers for the COVID-19 vaccination. Earlier, the Nepal Teachers Federation, Nepal Guardians Association, Private and Boarding School Association of Nepal (PABSON), N-PABSON had urged the Education Minister to recognize the teachers as frontline workers and inoculate them.

Meanwhile, the Education and Human Resource Development Centre has written to the local government education units to collect the data of teachers for the vaccination program.
