KATHMANDU: The Secretariat meeting of the Prachanda-Nepal faction of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) is underway at the faction’s central office in Peris Danda.
According to Narayan Kaji Shrestha, the spokesperson of the faction, the meeting will review the demonstrations staged so far and dwell on the mass meeting to be held tomorrow.
The ruling NCP has been split into two factions following the dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR) by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on December 20.
Each faction has four former secretariat members. Vice-Chairman Bam Dev Gautam is not associated with any factions and has launched a party unification campaign.
The Prachanda-Nepal faction is holding a ‘huge mass assembly’ in the Kathmandu Valley on Wednesday.
Earlier, it had staged demonstrations on December 29 and January 22 in the capital.
