PM Oli to go to EC to hold talks on polls today



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli will go to the Office of the Election Commission (EC) to hold talks on the ongoing dispute of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) and the preparations of the upcoming elections today.

Earlier, the EC had summoned the top leaders of both the factions, but they had sent only their representatives to the EC.

Few days ago, Pushpa Kamal Dahal alias Prachanda and Madhav Kumar Nepal of the disgruntled faction had gone to the EC to claim over the legitimacy of the party.

Prime Minister Oli has not gone to the Office of the EC since the dispute arose in the party.

Oli has been reiterating that the country should go for the elections. According to sources, he will go to the EC at 11 am to direct the EC to make preparations, accordingly.
