Bagmati Province Chief Minister Pandey wins vote of confidence



HETAUDA: Chief Minister Rajendra Pandey has received a vote of confidence from Bagmati Provincial Assembly (PA).

CM Pandey received 59 votes in favor of his confidence motion at Bagmati PA Monday. There are 109 PA members in the Bagmati. To win a vote of confidence requires the support of 55 lawmakers.

Speaker Sanu Kumar Shrestha said Chief Minister Pandey got a vote of confidence as he got a majority in the PA. As many as 104 PA members cast their votes.

23 PA members from the CPN-Maoist Center, 22 from the Nepali Congress (NC), 13 from the CPN-Unified Socialist and one from the Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) cast their votes in favor of CM Pandey.

There were 43 votes against Chief Minister Pandey’s vote of confidence motion. CPN-UML and Bibeksheel Sajha Party voted against CM Pandey. Similarly, 2 votes were neutral.
