Tourism Ministry seeks written clarification from NTB CEO Regmi



KATHMANDU: The government has sought formal clarification from Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) Dr. Dhananjay Regmi.

NTB CEO Dr. Regmi reached the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Monday and briefed Minister Prem Ale regarding an incident, involving him and a customs officer at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) on Saturday.

There was a fracas between Dr. Regmi and the customs officer at the airport.  Tourism Minister Ale had also received information about the incident from the customs officer concerned via phone.

The Minister took a decision to seek a written clarification after hearing about the incident from both the sides.

Accordingly, Chairman of the NTB Board of Directors and Secretary at the Ministry of Tourism Yadav Koirala are also set to demand a written explanation.

Meanwhile, the NTB issued a statement objecting to the sensationalism of a common incident.
