Attempt made to hack Facebook page of RSP chair Rabi Lamichhane

KATHMANDU: An attempt has been made to hack the official Facebook page of Rabi Lamichhane, the chair of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP).

According to Lamichhane’s secretariat, the page has been temporarily locked by Facebook after repeated attempts were made to gain unauthorized access.

In a notice issued on Tuesday, the secretariat stated that multiple attempts to breach the page began early in the morning.

It said no new content will be posted from the page until it is fully secured and restored to the control of the secretariat.

The notice added that efforts are underway to complete Facebook’s security procedures and bring the page back into operation.

The secretariat has also urged the public and well-wishers not to consider any suspicious posts, messages or links appearing from the page as official until the issue is resolved.
