Foreign Minister Dr. Khadka leaves for Belgrade to attend NAM anniversary



KATHMANDU: Foreign Minister Dr. Narayan Khadka left here for Belgrade on Friday to attend the high-level commemorative meeting to mark the 60th anniversary of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), to be held in Belgrade on October 11-12.

He is visiting at the invitation of Foreign Minister of the Republic of Serbia, Nikola Selaković, and Foreign Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov.

Foreign Minister Dr. Khadka is leading the Nepali delegation to attend the high-level commemorative meeting to mark the 60th anniversary of the NAM, according to a press release issued by the Foreign Ministry.

Nepal is one of the founding members of the NAM and has been playing active role in the Movement ever since its establishment. The Minister is scheduled to address the commemorative meeting of the NAM on October 11.

While in Belgrade, he will participate in the side-events and hold bilateral meetings with dignitaries in the side-lines of the meeting. Other members of the delegation include senior officials of the Foreign Ministry. The Foreign Minister and the delegation will return home on October 13.
