PM Deuba directs newly-appointed ministers to work with honesty to country and people



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has directed the newly-appointed minsters to work in a way to yield effective results as per the public aspirations.

In his address to the cabinet meeting on Friday after the expansion of Council of Ministers, PM Deuba directed the ministers to perform in a way to address public aspirations with honesty and excitement. The first meeting of the cabinet took place for the first time Friday following the completion of Council of Ministers.

Newly-appointed Minster for Information and Communications Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki informed that PM Deuba directed the ministers to work with honesty to address the needs of the country and the people. The meeting has designated Minister Karki as the government spokesperson.

Earlier too, he was entrusted with the same responsibility of the spokesperson. The minister has endorsed the 2078-guideline to make public expenditure effective and economized.

Likewise, the meeting has also reshuffled the cabinet committees. The government has urged not to be deceived by the sponsored publicity about the newly-appointed minister for industry, commerce and supplies, Gajendra Bahadur Hamal.

Spokesperson Karki informed that PM Deuba appointed Hamal as the minister on behalf of the Nepali Congress. He further clarified that there was no truth linking Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana with the newly-inducted minister Hamal. Minister Karki said that newly-appointed Minister Hamal had played significant role in the democratic movements of Nepal and the party has appointed him the minister recognizing his past contributions.
