Two UML MPs file writ seeking to join CPN-Unified Socialist

KATHMANDU: Two federal lawmakers of the CPN-UML have filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court seeking to join the newly formed CPN-Unified Socialist.

According to SC sources, lawmakers Som Pandey (House of Representatives) and Sharada Devi Bhatta (National Assembly) have filed a writ petition saying that they want to join the Unified Socialist.

Despite discarding UML to join Madhav Kumar Nepal-led Unified Socialist, lawmakers duo Pandey and Bhatta, Election Commission (EC) had refused to verify them as lawmakers of new party citing the party had not included their names in the list submitted at the Commission.

They have also demanded an interim order barring UML from taking action against them.
