UML rival factions’ meeting underway in Lalitpur

KATHMANDU: Second tier leaders of the rival CPN-UML factions are engaged in discussion at a hotel in Lalitpur Tuesday evening.

Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel, leaders Subash Nembang and Pradeep Gyawali are participating in the discussion on behalf of the establishment faction led by Prime Minister and party chairman KP Oli.

Likewise, Surendra Pandey, Ghanshyam Bhusal and Gokarna Bista are from the faction led by senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal.

UML Chair Oli had on Sunday put forward a six-point proposal to resolve the party dispute. Though the Nepal faction has dubbed the move conspiratorial and deceitful, leaders of the two factions are trying to find common ground for party unity.

Earlier in the day, Poudel and Pandey also held talks at Summit Hotel in Lalitpur.
