UML leader Bamdev Gautam skeptical about PM Oli’s proposal

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML leader Bamdev Gautam has expressed skepticism over the party unity proposal put forward by party Chairman and Prime Minister KP Oli.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, leader Gautam said that Chairman Oli is not ready to restore the party committees to its pre-May 16, 2018 status unconditionally.

“Though it is positive that the party chairman said he is ready to move forward from the situation before May 16, 2018, the language used in the proposal and the conditions set for the restoration show the lack of sincerity,” he said.

When party leaders are divided into Chairman KP Oli faction and senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal faction, leader Gautam has been stressing on retaining the party unity.
