KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court (SC) has issued a show cause notice to the government on reshuffling the Council of Ministers.

A single bench of Justice Ishwar Prasad Khatiwada Tuesday sought reasons for the cabinet rejig from the defendants, including the President’s Office and Prime Minister KP Oli.

The SC has summoned both the parties for discussion on June 20 before an interim order is issued in this regard.

Lawyers had gone to court saying it was unconstitutional of the government to make changes to the cabinet as it had announced the election by dissolving the parliament.
