UML PP meeting decides to vote for Sudurpaschim’s CM Bhatta



KATHMANDU: A CPN-UML parliamentary Party (PP) meeting of the Sudurpaschim Pradesh has decided to vote for Chief Minister Trilochan Bhatta.

A meeting of the Nepal-Khanal faction of the UML held this morning decided to vote for Chief Minister Bhatta, informed Chief Whip Durga Bishwokarma.

Chief Minister Bhatta is taking the vote of confidence in while today.

The disgruntled faction of the UML which holds a majority in the Sudurpaschim PP has decided to vote for Bhatta against the decision of the central committee (CC) meeting.

Seven provincial lawmakers of the Oli faction have, however, decided not to vote for Bhatta. They said they will not be present in the assembly meeting.

Out of 24 lawmakers, including Liladhar Bhatta, Ratan Thapa, Pathan Singh Bohara, Gelbusingh Bohara, Maya Tamang Bohara and Baldev Regmi have disagreed with the decision of the faction.

In the 52-member provincial committee, CPN (Maoist Center) has 13, Nepali Congress (NC) 12 and Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) has two provincial lawmakers.

JSP has decided not to cast votes for Chief Minister Bhatta as per the power alliance at the center, informed JSP leader Krishna Bahadur Chaudhary.
