India witnesses sharp decline in COVID-19 cases

NEW DELHI: The COVID-19 infection cases in the southern neighbor India have declined significantly.

India recorded 87,345 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, taking the caseload to 28,996,949.

Earlier, the daily infection cases had reached up to 400,000.

Currently, 1,308,806 are undergoing treatment at various isolation centers and hospitals. Meanwhile, 27,336,799 have returned home after treatment.

Similarly, the number of deaths from the coronavirus in India has crossed the 351,300-mark.

With 2,115 deaths in a single day, the number of deaths from the virus has reached 351,344, according to the latest figures collated by the Worldometers.

Broken out in Wuhan City of China in December 2019, the coronavirus has killed 3,751,627 and infected 174,360,196 globally until the filing of this news.
