NC PP meeting decides not to give confidence vote to PM Oli

KATHMANDU: Main opposition Nepali Congress (NC) parliamentary party has decided to stand against the Prime Minster KP Sharma Oli’s bid to gain vote of confidence in the House of Representatives.

A meeting of the parliamentary party today took the decision to foil the vote of confidence to be taken in the HoR session scheduled for May 10, shared NC whip chief Balkrishna Khand. The parliamentary party meeting also decided to urge other political parties to stand against the vote of confidence motion.

The meeting has endorsed the NC’s central committee meeting of last April 3 to demand resignation of the Prime Minister Oli and take initiative to form a government under NC’s leadership.

The meeting had also drawn a conclusion that the recent issuance of ordinance by the government on constitutional council was against the spirit of the constitution and also informed that NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba would not participate in the council meeting and urged other members not to take part in the meeting.

The meeting also urged the government to effectively perform for the prevention and control of COVID-19 and import vaccines against the virus to give relief to the people without any delay. The parliamentary party meeting has also decided to request the countries producing anti-COVID vaccines to make them available to Nepal. RSS
