Nepal records 8,418 new coronavirus cases in last 24 hours

KATHMANDU: Nepal recorded a total of 8,418 new cases of coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 8,287 persons have been tested positive for COVID-19 through the RT-PCR method while 131 have been tested positive through the Antigen method.

According to the Ministry, 2,270 persons in Kathmandu, 462 in Lalitpur, and 381 in Bhaktapur have been tested positive for the pandemic virus, making the capital valley’s fresh coronavirus cases 3,113 in past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, 3,370 persons have returned home after complete health recovery from COVID-19.

According to the Ministry, 53 people have succumbed to COVID-19 related death in the past 24 hours taking the death tally to 3,632 as of Saturday afternoon.
