Belbase, Thapa, elected councilors of Rushmoor Borough in UK



KATHMANDU: Two non-resident Nepali nationals have been elected councilors at Rushmoor Borough Council in the United Kingdom.

Social campaigner Jiba Belbase was elected from Bedlington and social worker Nem Thapa, also the ex-Gurkha army, from Cherrywood.

Thapa and Belbase, who fielded their candidacy from the ruling conservative party, secured 898 and 578 votes respectively.

The elections were concluded on Thursday and results came out on Friday.
