NC leader Yadav says new government in Nepali New Year

KATHMANDU: Leader of the main opposition Nepali Congress (NC) and former Minister Mahendra Yadav has claimed that a new government would be formed in the Nepali New Year.

Speaking at a program in Kathmandu Thursday, Yadav said an alternative to the incumbent government would be sought and the country would get a new government within the first month of the Nepali New Year.

“Be assured the country will get a new government in new year. The government is going to change and talks are being held for the same,” he said.

Regarding NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba’s cavalier attitude towards new government formation, Yadav argued it could be so as the party’s focus currently centered on NC general convention.

The leader criticized the incumbent government, and remembering late NC leader Krishna Prasad Bhattarai, he expressed happiness over the distribution of Melachi water in Kathmandu Valley.

“The government of Prime Minister KP Oli is public enemy number one at the moment and its best to bid farewell to this government or else we all will regret not ousting it,” Yadav said.
