Erstwhile UML leaders walk out of NCP Standing Committee meeting

KATHMANDU: Leaders of the erstwhile CPN-UML have started walking out of the Standing Committee meeting of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) which is underway at Perisdanda, Koteswor.

Sources said that the leaders walked out after expressing their views in the meeting called to discuss the political situation after the Supreme Court’s decision on the NCP’s authority.

The Prachanda-Nepal faction has convened the meeting to discuss the party’s future strategy after the Supreme Court authorized the Rishi Kattel-led NCP on Sunday.

During today’s meeting, leaders of the then CPN-UML emphasized narrowing down differences between KP Oli and NCP Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda”.

Leaders of former UML including Asta Laxmi Shakya, Surendra Pandey, Raghuji Pant, Yogesh Bhattarai, Ghanshyam Bhusal and others have already left the meeting.

The meeting, however, is underway in Perisdanda.
