SC will reinstate Parliament: Gagan Thapa (with video)

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Gagan Thapa has claimed that the House of Representatives (HoR) will be reinstated.

Addressing a protest program organized by Nepal Tarun Dal Bhaktapur, Thapa expressed confidence that the court will reinstate the Parliament.

“The constitution does not recognize KP Oli’s move. Justices don’t have to look left or right, they just look at the constitution,” he said, “The prime minister has put pressure on the court to reverse the decision.”

He said he was confident the Supreme Court (SC) that dismissed the royal commission would not be intimidated by the prime minister.

“I am confident that the court will overturn Oli’s unconstitutional move,” he said.

Thapa said that President Bidya Devi Bhandari and Prime Minister Oli would be sent home after the reinstatement of the parliament.
