DHANGADHI: Prime Minister KP Oli said that the House of Representatives will not be reinstated at any cost.

Addressing a mass assembly organized by his faction of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) in Dhangadhi on Friday, Oli said that the country has entered the polls.

“I am the prime minister with 64 percent of the vote. A prime minister with a majority can dissolve the parliament. There is no other option”, Oli said, “I am the leader of the 64 percent majority. Now, the House of Representatives will be formed through polls. It won’t be reinstated.”

The Prime Minister claimed that the mid-term polls will be held on announced dates of April 30 and May 10, 2021, challenging the Prachanda-Nepal faction to win at least 10 seats.

‘Win 10 seats across the country. I challenge you,” said Oli.

Oli was of the opinion that 265 people leaving the party in the county with a population of 30 million won’t make a big difference.

Prime Minister Oli even claimed that he has done a lot in the field of development.

He said some leaders turned against him and took to the streets as he fought for the country’s defense.

Responding to those who called him anti-federalism and anti-republican, Oli said he had spent 14 years in prison for the republic.

On a separate note, Prime Minister Oli said that the people had joined him in his fight against the Indian blockade and new border crossings and roads had been opened with China.

“I fought against the blockade imposed by India, you supported. We have opened roads in three directions. We are now opening a checkpoint in Mustang. We will pave the way to Simikot within the next fiscal year.”

Addressing the program, Oli initially explained what he had done and spent more time criticizing the Prachanda-Nepal faction.
