Election program for NA Members’ election approved: Nominations on Jan 4



KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) has approved the election program for the election of National Assembly members.

According to the approved schedule, the political parties wishing to participate in the election will have to register for the election purpose from December 16 to 25.

The voters’ list will be published in the office of the Returning Officer on December 1 and those whose names are left out in the published list will be able to apply for inclusion of their name. A person whose name is included in the voters’ roll can apply to correct his name, surname, age, post etc. on the same date and lodge a complaint, if any, against the voters mentioned in the published list.

Similarly, there is a program to investigate and take action on petitions and complaints and to publish the final voter list on January 2 and 3. The nomination papers of the candidates will be registered on January 4 and the list of registered candidates will be published.

Filing of complaints against the candidates has been scheduled for January 5, deciding on the nomination papers and complaints on January 6 and 7 and publishing the list of candidates, withdrawing the name of the candidate on January 8 while publishing the final list of candidates will take place on January 9.

Voting is scheduled to take place at the designated polling stations from 9 am to 3 pm on January 26.
