Election Commission publishes schedule for National Assembly election

KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) has made the schedule of the National Assembly elections public on Tuesday.

As per the EC schedule, the election for the vacant seats of National Assembly members will be held on January 24. The candidates have to register their name by January 4 and the voters’ final list will be published on January 3, 2022.

EC has notified that one can launch a complaint against the candidature on January 5, after which the commission will investigate on the complaint and give verdict by January 7.

“The candidates willing to withdraw their names can do so by January 8,” EC source elaborated the scheduled, adding, “EC will publish the final list on January 9.”

The commission will provide election symbols to the candidates on January 9.

Similarly, polling will be held at the designated polling station from 9 am to 3 pm on January 26.
