Meeting of NC’s Poudel faction underway at Chaksibari

To come up with common presidential candidate



KATHMANDU: A meeting of the Ram Chandra Poudel faction of the Nepali Congress (NC) is underway to reach a consensus on a common candidate for the party president.

The meeting has been called at former General Secretary Prakash Man Singh’s house in Chaksibari.

Central Working Committee (CWC) members, including leader Ram Chandra Poudel, General Secretary Shashanka Koirala, former General Secretary Singh, and central member Shekhar Koirala are attending the meeting, an NC leader said.

The leaders had held a meeting on this issue in Poudel’s residence in Boharatar on Monday evening as well.

According to an NC leader, the top leaders have agreed to finalize a common candidate within two days. The meeting had ended on a positive note, the leader said.

The meeting of the CWC members close to the Poudel faction is taking place to this end today.

Aside from Poudel, Shashanka, Prakash Man and Shekhar Koirala have shown interest in the party president from the Poudel faction.
