Two killed, eight injured as passenger bus hits Deusi revelers



KATHMANDU: Two people have died after being hit by a passenger bus at Hetauda Sub Metropolitan City-19 in Makwanpur district.

Other eight pedestrians sustained injuries in the accident.

The deceased have been identified as Suraj Bista, 20, of Newarpani and Prem Babadur Singh, 34, of Chitwan Piple-3, said District Police Office, Makwanpur.

Five among eight people injured in the accident have been discharged following treatment at Chure Hill Hospital. Similarly, three others received treatment in Chitwan and now have been discharged.

Irate locals set the bus involved in the accident ablaze.

The bus, Bagmati Pradesh, 03-001 Kha 0936, en-route to Narayangadh from Hetauda, hit the pedestrians when they were heading to a house to play Deusi, informed SP Somendra Singh Rathore.
