5.7-magnitude quake kills 20 in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: At least 20 people have died after an earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale struck Pakistan’s Balochistan province early on Thursday, BBC reported.

People died when structures caved in and the death toll may increase, according to the government officials. Images on social media showed people in the city of Quetta out on the streets in the aftermath of the quake.

Local officials told BBC that at least 150 others are thought to have been injured, with several of them rushed to hospital in critical condition.
