SC summons both parties to show before court in the writ filed by UML

KATHMANDU: Hearing on the writ petition filed by CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli seeking the dismissal of 14 federal parliament members and two province assembly members, the Supreme Court has ordered the defendants to show themselves before the court for discussion on September 13.

A single bench of Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana ordered to summon 14 federal assembly lawmakers, two Lumbini Province Assembly lawmakers and the writ petitioners for discussion.

Similarly, SC has issued a show cause order against the Election Commission (EC) relating to the writ alleging EC that registration process of Madhav Kumar Nepal-led CPN-Unified Socialist was unlawful.

According to advocate Badal, the apex court has asked EC to submit a written reply within 15 days.

He informed that a written reply would be submitted within 15 days and a hearing would be held three days later.
