RPP asks govt to urgently manage safe housing for flood-displaced Melamchi folks

KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has demanded the government to immediately arrange safe housing and relief for flood-displaced people in and around Melamchi.

RPP Chairman Pashupati Shamsher Rana along with party leaders reached Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba’s official residence in Baluwatar Saturday to draw the government’s attention towards the situation of floods- and landslides-affected people of Sindhupalchowk.

RPP Chairman Rana said they drew PM Deuba’s attention towards the plight of people who have been displaced following recent floods and landslides in and around Melamchi of Sindhupalchowk district. They also demanded that the government provide proper compensation to the families of those who lost their lives and went missing due to the floods.

Similarly, the government was cautioned not to delay the reconstruction of local infrastructure, including local bridges, roads, electricity and drinking water, that were damaged due to floods.
