UML Chairman Oli’s review writ listed for hearing at SC



KATHMANDU:A review petition filed by CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli in the Supreme Court seeking revocation of the interim order not to implement the action taken against four Karnali Province lawmakers has been enlisted for hearing at Supreme Court on Wednesday.

After UML lawmakers Prakash Jwala, Nanda Singh Budha, Amar Bahadur Thapa and Kurmaraj Shahi crossed the floor to support CPN-Maoist Center led government of Mahendra Bahadur Shahi in Karnali Province, UML’s Chairman Oli faction had taken action against the revolting lawmakers of Madhav Kumar Nepal faction.

When expelled lawmakers filed writ petition seeking revoke of the action taken against them, citing the committee which took action against them was not valid, Supreme Court had reinstated the lawmakers.

After the Supreme Court deactivated the action of the UML’s 10th General Convention Organizing Committee, Chairman Oli had filed a review petition against it.

A division bench of justices Bishwambhar Prasad Shrestha and Nahakul Subedi is scheduled to hear the review petition.
