Prachanda, Nepal, Deuba discuss provincial politics in Budhanilkantha



KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba, Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and senior UML leader Madhav Kumar Nepal have held a group discussion in Budhanilkantha after 4 pm Monday, having met each other separately in the morning and afternoon.

Prachanda and Nepal meet at Koteshwor this morning after which Prachanda reached Budhanilkantha to meet Deuba during afternoon. The leaders have been forging an effective alliance against CPN-UML Chairman and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli of late.

According to sources, during the one hour-meeting among the three leaders, they discussed provincial politics, among other issues. They explored viable moves in Province 2 and Gandaki Province.

The opposition alliance, including Janta Samajbadi Party (JSP) Upendra Yadav faction, have been devising strategies to unseat the PM Oli faction from provinces after their repeated attempts at the center turned futile.

The NC and Maoist Center are preparing the government in Province 2 after Chief Minister Lal Babu Raut ousted one minister and three state ministers of JSP Mahantha Thakur faction from the provincial government.

JSP Thakur faction have become the ruling partners at center.
