Sudurpaschim’s CM Bhatta likely to take oath Tuesday



KATHMANDU: Chief Minister (CM) of Sudurpaschim Trilochan Bhatta is taking vote of confidence on Tuesday.

Chief Minister Bhatta will take the vote of confidence in line with the existing law after the Supreme Court reinstated erstwhile CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Center) and the ruling UML pulled out of the government, said Maoist Center Parliamentary Party Chief Whip Akkal Rawal.

Following the discussions with the opposition parties, Chief Minister Bhatta will take the oath of office and secrecy, said Rawal.

In the provincial assembly that began since Friday,  provincial lawmaker Pathan Singh Bohara said the CPN-UML has already withdrawn the support to the Bhatta-led government.

On the other hand, the Nepal-Khanal has not withdrawn its support. Nepal-Khanal has 19 provincial lawmakers.

Meanwhile, lawmakers of Oli faction are also holding a meeting to dwell on the confidence motion to be taken by Bhatta, said lawmaker Ratan Thapa.
