Karnali records 8 new deaths linked to COVID-19



SURKHET: Eight more people have died from COVID-19 in Karnali Province in the last 24 hours.

According to a press note issued by the Health Directorate of Karnali Pradesh on Thursday, the deceased include three men (aged 36, 42 and 73) of Birendranagar municipality-10 and two women, each one from Lekbensi municipality-5 and Chhatreshwari rural municipality-6, Salyan.

All of them died in the course of treatment at Karnali Province Hospital in Surkhet, said Dr Rabin Khadka, the acting director at the Health Directorate of the Province.

Similarly, a 67-year-old man of Sharada municipality-1, died in the course of treatment at Salyan District Hospital and a 46-year-old man of Bhairabi rural municipality passed away at Dailekh District Hospital, said Khadka.

Likewise, a 45-year-old woman infected with COVID-19 of Bheri municipality-4, Jajarkot died while being rushed to Nepalgunj for treatment.

With this, the number of deaths from COVID-19 has reached 73 in Karnali Pradesh.
