Vehicle charging six times high fare face music



KAVRE: The District Traffic Office Kavrepalanchowk has slapped action against a vehicle charging around six times high fair to passengers.

The vehicle was found charging extremely higher fair to the passengers bound to Janakpur, Dhanusha from Kathmanduu on Thursday.

There is a huge number of people going back to their home town, of late, with the spike in coronavirus infection cases in Kathmandu.

According to the traffic office, action was taken against a Janakpur-bound vehicle carrying 15 passengers when it was found charging higher fair during a security screening at Sanga.

Traffic in-charge Pramila Shrestha shared that recommendation was also forwarded to the Department of Transport Management to take further action against vehicle driver Suraj Bhandari and the vehicle for charging Rs 15,000 each from the passengers.

She said, “We took the driver and vehicle under control and recommended for further action”.
