KATHMANDU: The government has urged all concerned to close night businesses and restaurants after 9 pm.

The Ministry of Health and Population called for a strict closure of night businesses in view of the breach of public health standards for corona infection control and the growing rate of UK variants of coronavirus.

Joint spokesperson at the Ministry Dr. Sameer Kumar Adhikari issued a notice on Wednesday urging all District Administration Offices to mandatorily wear masks outside the home and in public places as per the Infectious Diseases Act.

The Ministry has also urged the concerned health offices and local levels to increase contact tracing to identify coronavirus infections and increase antigen and PCR tests as required for case investigation.

Similarly, the ministry has urged the concerned agencies to tighten the traffic in those places if more than 500 active people are found infected in big cities and more than 100 in small towns.

The Ministry has requested to tighten the quarantine rules and the number of members of various teams or visiting teams coming from abroad.

The <inistry has also urged the educational institutions to be on high alert as corona infection is on the rise in the school-going age group in Kathmandu, Pokhara, and other big cities.

It has urged to take high health security precautions in shopping malls, cinema halls, dance halls, health clubs, swimming pools, party palaces, temples, and other crowded places.
